How the 10,000th day is counted
Take your birth date and add 10,000 calendar days. The day you were born is day 0, so on your 10,000th day you are exactly 10,000 days old, the same way you're one year old on your first birthday and not on the day you were born. Leap days count like any other day.
It's the first day your count runs to five digits, and it comes in your 28th year: 27 years, 4 months and 15 to 19 days, depending on when in the year you were born and how many February 29ths you've lived through.
How old you are on each round day
| Day | Your age that day |
|---|---|
| 1,000 | 2 years, 8 months and 24 to 28 days |
| 10,000 | 27 years, 4 months and 15 to 19 days |
| 20,000 | 54 years, 9 months and 0 to 4 days |
| 30,000 | 82 years, 1 month and 18 to 23 days |

Questions
How old are you on your 10,000th day?
27 years, 4 months and 15 to 19 days, depending on your birthday. That puts it in your 28th year, a few months after your 27th birthday.
How do I find my 10,000th day?
Add 10,000 days to your birth date. The day you were born counts as day 0, so the 10,000th day is the day you are 10,000 days old. In a spreadsheet, put your birth date in a cell and add 10000 to it; the calculator above does the same and shows the other round days too.
Is the 10,000th day the same everywhere in the world?
It's a date, so it's the same date wherever you are: your birth date plus 10,000 calendar days. Time zones only matter for seconds, like the billionth second, which is a moment rather than a day.
What comes after 10,000 days?
Day 11,111, when every digit of your count is the same, at about 30 years and 5 months. Then the round thousands keep coming, about one every two years and nine months: 20,000 days is around 54 years and 9 months, 30,000 days around 82 years and a month.
How can I mark my 10,000th day?
In Life Tally it gets a ceremony of its own the morning it lands, a card you can save or send, and a place in your kept days. You can also write a letter to it ahead of time, and it comes back to you that morning.
